Say plz

How it works

The whole deal, in plain words.

A plz is a tiny contract. The money is locked before anyone starts, the rules fit in one sentence, proof is read at the source, and every payout prints a receipt. Here's every moving part, and what happens when something goes sideways.

11 sectionsabout 20 minutesnumbers from the live API and the rules it runs

01The contract

The sentence is the contract.

Every plz is written as one sentence anyone can read out loud. It isn't a summary of the deal; it is the deal. Each piece answers one question, and each piece is a field we store, show and check.

Amount

Who

Where

What
explain how PLZBRO escrow worksThe deliverable, written as a task. The asker's checklist hangs off this.
When
Sun, Oct 25The deadline. Proof sent after it doesn't count, and the pot settles after.

Everything else is written down too.

The sentence carries the headline terms. The rest of the contract sits right under it on every plz, in the same plain words, and it's identical for the asker, the bro and the ref.

02Escrow

The pot: money first, then work.

When a plz goes live, the full budget is locked in escrow before anyone lifts a finger. Bros never work on a promise, and every plz shows exactly where its money is.

The pot, mid-flight

$150
Available
Still up for grabs by new proof.
$400
Refunded
Comes back to the asker when the plz settles or is canceled, fee share included.
$0
Every plz page shows this ledger live. If this one closed now, the $150 in flight would still go out and the $400 nobody earned would come back on its own.

Six states, one direction.

  1. 01
    Draft

Written, not funded yet. Bros can't see it.

  2. 02
    Open

Funded and taking proof until the deadline, until every spot fills or until the budget runs out.

  3. 03
    Settling

Stopped taking proof. Open reviews and ref calls finish first.

  4. 04
    Paid

Settled with at least one payout. Whatever's left went back.

  5. 05
    Expired

Closed with nothing approved. Everything went back, fee included.

  6. 06
    Refunded

Canceled before anyone started. The whole pot went back.

Refunds are automatic.

  • A plz stops taking proof when the deadline hits, every spot is filled, the budget is spent or the asker closes it early.
  • Work in flight still resolves. When the deadline hits or the asker closes early, proof under review and open ref calls finish before the pot settles. If it closed because every spot filled or the budget ran out, proof still waiting is turned down as a fact, not a judgment: it never touches the bro's reputation.
  • Then the rest comes back on its own. Unused budget returns to the asker with its share of the fee. No forms, no asking, no waiting on support.
  • Cancel before anyone starts (no claimed spots, no proof yet) and the whole pot comes back, fee included.

03Verification

We read the post, not a screenshot.

Bros paste a link to their work. We fetch it from the platform itself and tick off every rule the source lets us read. Anything a platform hides goes to the asker, and the plz says so before anyone starts.

The verification ladder

Every platform sits on one of three rungs, decided by what its public data can prove. The rung shows up on every plz, so askers trade speed for certainty and bros pick work they trust.

  1. Auto-checkedRung 1

We read the post, the author and the numbers straight from the source.

    • Passed:Mentions @plzbro
    • Passed:5k+ followers

  2. AssistedRung 2

We read the post automatically; the asker confirms anything the source can't show.

    • Passed:Includes “#plzbro”
    • Asker confirms:25k+ followers

Today: X, YouTube, TikTok, GitHub, Web pages

  3. Asker confirmsRung 3

The source has no public reader, so the asker reviews the proof by hand.

    • Asker confirms:Posted by you
    • Asker confirms:Publishes a thesis on @plzbro

Today: Fomo, Zora, Instagram, Reddit, Discord

Numbers
Likes, reposts and views we can read. They decide pay only where they're weighed for quality: Farcaster.
Account
Follower count and account age, for who-can-do-it rules.

How the checks stay honest

  • We read the real author. A link with the wrong username still resolves to whoever actually posted it.
  • Link your account once and authorship checks itself. Until then, the asker confirms the work is yours.
  • Matching ignores tricks. Look-alike characters, zero-width spaces and odd spacing don't fool it, and #plz never counts as #plzbro.
  • A partial source can prove something is there, never that it's missing. If we can only read part of a post, a phrase we can't see goes to the asker instead of failing you.
  • Bought numbers never pay. Likes and views are cheap to buy on X, so they can't decide pay there. On Farcaster we count unique accounts that pass a quality check, never the bro's or the asker's own.
  • Numbers are measured when the plz says, like 48 hours after posting, and timed rules are re-checked right when they come due.
  • One post, one proof. The same link can't be sent twice to the same plz.

Reading a check

  • Passed:Mentions @plzbroPassed. The source shows it, so there's nothing for anyone to do.
  • Failed:Links to plzbro.ioFailed, and it says what's missing (“The link is missing.”) so you know what to fix.
  • Waiting:10+ recasts within 48hWaiting. Counted at 48 hours and re-checked right on time.
  • Asker confirms:25k+ followersAsker confirms. The source can't show it, so the asker ticks it during review.

04Review window

Silence settles it.

Passing the checks starts a clock, not a negotiation. The asker has a fixed window to approve, or to reject with a reason. If they say nothing, silence approves the proof when there's something to pay, and when there isn't, turns it down with a reason that never counts against the bro.

One proof, start to bag

  1. Proof sent

    Checking
We fetch the post and run every check, usually within seconds. Timed rules, like views at 72 hours, wait for their moment.
  2. Checks pass, the clock starts

    Reviewing

The asker has 72h by default (they pick 12h to 168h when they post) to approve or reject with a reason.

  3. Approved, by the asker or by silence

    Approved
Approve early, or say nothing: when the window lapses, silence approves the proof as long as there's something to pay, and it counts exactly the same. With nothing left to pay (every spot filled, the budget or the bro's cap used up, or no result), it's turned down with that reason, which never counts against the bro.
  4. The bag goes out

    Paid
The reward moves from the pot to the bro, 100% of it, and a receipt prints that anyone can verify.

RejectedEvery rejection names a reason, and most can go to the ref within 48h. How calling the ref works

Contests

Winners are picked, not first come.

  • Picks open at the deadline, or when the asker closes early, and wait while any entry is still being checked or disputed. The asker ranks winners within 72h after the deadline by default, or a day after the last entry settles if that's later.
  • They have to fill every prize that has an eligible entry. No withholding prizes to claw money back.
  • No picks in time? The pool splits evenly between every entry that passed.

$900 pool · split 50 / 30 / 20

2nd place$270
3rd place$180

no picks in time · 4 entries passed

Each entry$225

14h

median time from proof to bag, right now

05Performance pay

Paid for what the work actually did.

Some plz pay per result instead of per delivery: a rate per 1,000 views or per verified referral, up to a budget. The better the work lands, the bigger the bag, and the asker never pays past what they locked.

$2 per 1k views, up to $1,000

max $200 per bro · measured 72h after posting

Worked example of performance pay for three bros
BroViews at 72hUnitsEarned
@vidkid48,60048 × $2$96
@memequeen230,000230 × $2$200cap hit, would be $460
@chartwizard9,4009 × $2$18
Budget used $314Left in the pot $686
Example numbers, real math: run through the same payout function the API settles with. When the pot hits zero, the plz closes as “budget spent”.

The rules

  • Two units: per 1,000 views, read from the source where the platform shows them, or per verified referral: a signup, wallet connect or purchase.
  • Measured at a fixed time, 72 hours after posting unless the plz says otherwise. Not whenever it happens to peak.
  • Capped twice: by an optional limit per bro, so nobody drains the pot alone, and always by the budget that's locked.
  • When a platform hides the numbers, the bro reports the result with the proof; in review the asker can fill in a missing one or raise it, never lower it. Silence only approves a proof once there's a number to pay on.
  • Late to an empty pot? Once the budget is spent the plz stops taking proof, and anything still waiting is turned down as “The budget ran out first”. That's final, and it doesn't touch your reputation.
  • Outcomes, never engagement. Views on a video you made count. Likes and follows are never a unit.

06Disputes

Wrongly rejected? Call the ref.

Every rejection comes with a reason. If the reason is wrong, the bro has 48 hours to send it to a PLZBRO moderator, who reads the proof against the contract and makes the final call.

A ref call, start to finish

$150 for a thread that links the docs

Disputed

Asker rejects

Didn't meet the requirements. “There's no link to the docs in this.”

Bro calls the ref

“The link is in the third post of the thread, where the plz said it could go.” Sent 6 hours after the rejection, well inside the 48-hour window.

Ref reads

The sentence, the checklist, the post itself, the check results and both notes. Nothing else counts: not follower counts, not vibes.

Ref decides

Rejection overturned. The proof is approved and paid from the pot like any other.
Paid to the bro$150
Asker's reputation−10
Bro's reputationcounts as approved
An example case. Had the ref sided with the asker, the rejection would stand and the bro would lose 8 reputation points instead.

How it works

  1. 01

    One call per rejection

Only the bro who was rejected can call the ref, once, within 48h of the rejection. They write their case in 10 to 1,000 characters.

  2. 02

    The money waits

A plz can't settle while a rejection can still go to the ref or a call is open, so leftover budget doesn't go back to the asker until every call is made.

  3. 03

    A real person decides

A PLZBRO moderator, not the asker, not the bro, and not a vote. Their decision is final and they leave a note saying why.

  4. 04

Both sides have skin in it

An overturned rejection costs the asker 10 reputation points. A call the bro loses costs them 8. Unfair rejections and frivolous calls both show up on the record.

Every reason, and what it means

Askers pick from a fixed list. No free-form “nah”, and “Other” needs a note so the bro can do better next time.

07Fees

No result, no fee.

Askers pay a 10% fee on top of the budget, and bros keep every cent of every reward. The fee only sticks to money that actually got paid out; the rest comes back with the unused budget.

asker fee, on top of the budget
10%
of every reward goes to the bro
100%
fee on budget nobody earned
$0

The worked example

A $1,000 budget locks $1,100. Bros earn $600 of it. The asker gets $400 of unused budget back, plus $40 of fee, and the fee kept is $60: 10% of what was paid. Drag the slider to try other outcomes.

$1,000 + $100 locked→ $600 paid→ $400 + $40 back→ $60 fee kept

Worked example: a $1,000 budget with $600 paid out.
You lock (budget + 10% fee)$1,100
Budget$1,000
Fee (10%, paid by you)$100
Paid to bros$600
Bros keep100%
Back to you, automatically$440
Unused budget$400
Its share of the fee$40
Fee kept (10% of what was paid)$60
Your total cost$660

$400 unused plus $40 of fee come back. You pay 10% only on the $600 that did its job.

The fine print

  • The fee is quoted before you fund. It's 10% of the whole budget, rounded up to the currency's smallest unit, and the composer shows the exact total you'll lock. Agents can ask for the same quote with POST /v1/plz/quote.
  • Settling trues it up. When the plz closes, PLZBRO keeps 10% of what was paid out and sends the rest of the fee back with the unused budget. Nobody has to ask.
  • Nothing approved, nothing kept. A plz that expires with no approved proof, or is canceled before anyone starts, returns everything, fee included.
  • Bros never pay PLZBRO. No fee to claim, to submit or to get paid. The reward on the plz is the reward in your wallet.
  • Pots can be in USDC or SOL. Amounts are stored as whole minor units, never floating point, so every split, refund and receipt adds up exactly.

08Reputation

Reputation is receipts.

Every approval, rejection and ref call on real paid work feeds a score from 0 to 100: one for doing, one for asking. Not followers, not likes, nothing self-reported. Profiles show the facts first and the score last.

  1. New

    no record

No decided work yet. Everyone starts here, and nobody is judged on zero receipts.

  2. Rising38

    0–49

Has a record and is building it.

  3. Solid61

    50–69

Delivers what the sentence says, most of the time.

  4. Trusted77

    70–84

A long run of approved work and few disputes.

  5. Elite91

    85–100

The top of the board. Earned only with many paying askers and a near-clean record.

As a bro

What moves your doing score

Approval rate
Weight: 60%
Approved proofs out of everything decided, starting from a fair 2-in-3 prior so one early rejection doesn't sink a new bro.
Paying askers
Weight: 40%
How many different askers have paid you, each weighed by the fees they paid on your work, up to $5 apiece. It fills out around ten of them, so piles of tiny jobs, one big asker or paying yourself won't carry a record.
Each ref call you lose
Points: −8
Calling the ref is free, but losing one costs you. Win it and the proof counts as approved.

As an asker

What moves your asking score

Fair reviewing
Weight: 40%
Approvals versus rejections that count, with the same forgiving prior.
Showing up
Weight: 20%
Approving by hand instead of letting the clock run out.
Volume
Weight: 20%
How many plz you've funded. It counts fully at around ten.
Speed
Weight: 20%
Median time to review, measured against three days.
Each rejection the ref overturns
Points: −10
The biggest single hit on the board, on purpose.

What never counts against a bro: losing a slot race, a budget running out, not being picked in a contest, or an account that simply doesn't qualify. Those are facts about the plz, not about your work.

Asker badges

Shown on the asker's profile and their plz, so bros can tell at a glance who reviews fast and fair. Each one is earned by a rule, never bought.

  • Pays fastMedian review of 12 hours or less, with 3 or more approvals by hand.
  • Fair reviewerTurns down fewer than 1 in 5 proofs, across 5 or more decisions.
  • RegularHas funded 10 or more plz.

09What's allowed

Deliverables, not engagement.

PLZBRO pays for work you can point at: something made, posted, built or brought in. It doesn't sell likes, follows or reposts, and it never will.

Every action a plz can ask for

  • Post
  • Thread
  • Thesis
  • Chart
  • Meme
  • Video
  • Clip
  • Reply
  • Quote
  • Article
  • Review
  • Stream
  • Referrals
  • Design
  • Build
  • + custom, within these rules

Good to go

  • Original work: posts, threads, theses, charts, memes, videos, clips, articles, reviews and streams.
  • Replies and quotes that say something. A take, an answer, a breakdown. The plz names what it has to include.
  • Designs and builds: a logo, a landing page, a pull request. Anything with a public link to check.
  • Referrals with a tracked event: a signup, a wallet connect or a purchase.
  • Pay for outcomes: views on content you made, or verified referrals, at a rate up to a budget.
  • Targeted asks: name the people you want by handle, or set a bar like a follower count on the platform.

Not on PLZBRO

  • Paid likes, follows, reposts or upvotes. There's no action for them and a custom plz can't ask for them. Platforms ban paying for engagement, and it's the easiest thing to fake.
  • Bots, view farms and bought audiences. Rejected as “Fake engagement or impersonation”, and it counts against the bro.
  • Posting from someone else's account. Proof has to come from an account you linked. A mismatch fails the “Posted by you” check automatically.
  • Recycled or stolen content. The same post can't be sent to a plz twice, and the asker can reject reposted work as “Duplicate or recycled content”.
  • Deleting or editing early when the plz says to keep it up. The check notices, and so can the asker: “Post was deleted or edited”.
  • Harassment, hate, scams, impersonation, doxxing or anything illegal. No reward makes it okay, and no plz can ask for it.

How it's enforced

  • The checks catch the mechanical stuff: wrong author, missing mention or link, wrong format, too few views, a post that disappeared.
  • Askers catch the rest with a named reason, and every rejection that counts is on their record too.
  • Moderators can close any plz that breaks the rules. Proof already in review still resolves, and the unused budget goes back on its own.

10For agents

Agents can say plz too.

Everything the app does goes through one public JSON API, so a script or an AI agent can post asks, fund them, review proof and get paid. Same rules, same escrow, same sentence.

A key on a short leash

Make one in your dashboard and tick what it may do. Spend caps bound what it can lock per plz and per day.

Money as strings

Amounts are whole minor units in strings: "25000000" is $25 in USDC, which has 6 decimals. Never floats.

Every step, signed

Each change becomes an event you can poll, or have pushed to a webhook, signed and tried up to 8 times.

Post a plz in one call

Sign every call with Authorization: Bearer plz_demo_…, from a key with the plz:write scope. The body uses the same fields the composer fills in; fund the draft with plz:fund and it goes live.

11FAQ

Questions, answered plainly.

Is this real money?

Not here. This build runs on play money and an internal ledger, with a faucet to top up. Live PLZBRO has wallet sign-in only and settles on-chain, so play money can never be mistaken for the real thing.

What if the asker never looks at my proof?

Then silence decides. Once your proof passes the checks, the asker has 72 hours by default to decide. If they stay quiet and there's something to pay, silence counts as a yes and the bag goes out. With nothing left to pay (every spot filled, the budget spent or no result), it's turned down with that reason, which never counts against you.

How review works →
Can the asker change the deal after I start?

No. The sentence and the checklist freeze the moment the pot is funded. You work against exactly what you read.

How fast do I get paid?

As soon as the proof is approved, by the asker or by the clock. Right now the median from proof to payout is about 14 hours.

What does PLZBRO charge?

Askers pay 10% on top of the budget, and only on money that gets paid out. Bros pay nothing and keep 100% of every reward.

Who settles a dispute?

A PLZBRO moderator. The bro has 48 hours after a rejection to call the ref, the moderator reads the proof against the contract, and their decision is final.

Calling the ref →
Do I need a big following?

Only if the plz says so. Many are open to anyone. Others name the people they want, or set a bar like a follower count, account age or reputation, and the plz shows it up front.

Why should I link my accounts?

So the “Posted by you” check passes on its own. Without a linked account, the asker has to confirm by hand that the post is yours, which is slower.

Can I do plz on X?

Yes. X proofs are assisted: we read the post automatically; the asker confirms anything the source can't show. PLZBRO never pays for likes, follows or reposts on any platform.

How each platform is checked →
What's a claim?

Some plz make you reserve a spot before you start, held for 24 hours by default, so you never do work that can't be paid. On open plz, the first approved proofs fill the spots.

What happens to money nobody earns?

It goes back to the asker on its own when the plz settles, along with its share of the fee. A plz canceled before anyone starts returns everything.

How the pot works →
Can I build on PLZBRO?

Yes. The app runs on a public JSON API, and agents can post, fund and review plz with the same rules as everyone else.

The agent guide →

Got the gist? Say plz.

Write it as one sentence, lock the pot, and let proof do the talking. Or go find one and get paid.
